Hi ALL,

This is what I've been toying with since last month.....a dream project between my brother Joseph & me depicting Lt.Weymar just as he posed & appeared for this photo
BOTH Pilot & LVG were to fly for Telford yesterday UNTIL we discovered that if displayed as such they MUST GO INTO THE DIORAMA CLASS which OBVIOUSLY would have meant a BIG DISADVANTAGE so Joseph had to UNGLUE POOR WEYMAR off that wheel, turn the wheel upside down & leave the LVG's Pilot Grounded

I used the body of the Red Baron (ModelCellar 1:32nd Sculpted by Mike Good) for this conversion  while I carefully CUT OFF THE CAP from Richtofen's head :p

And also used the bare head from this dude (ModelCellar 1:32nd Sculpted by Mike Good) as Lt. Weymar's smiling face & wearing Manfred's Cap

I'll let the pics do the talking from now on as I'm still RECOVERING from the IPMS' RULES LET DOWN (Yes I know we should have looked before we leapt, but STILL it HURTS )

Looking good Ray.
Hope to see you over the weekend.
Carl.(y)

Thanks a lot Carl, but I'm in Malta

Couldn't make it due to work commitments :shifty:

Speak to the Maltese Mafia there :ROFLMAO: & look up my brother Joseph & his two boys William & Jeremy my nephews :love: who will also be competing (y)

Hi Ray!

Nice to see you again here in PF.(y)
As usual great work, very inspirational.

Cheers,
Pedro.

really nice work Ray, great to see this come together, are you coming over with your brother, I am going for the first time tomorrow.

I look forward to seeing this in the comp....

Dave

excellent model. but why is it classed as a diorama?is it because of the figure?to me a diorama is a scene that tells a story.i`m not sure what the story is here so could you please enlighten me:).

Excellent job Ray! His right foot needs to be directly under the figure's "center of gravity" or the pose simply will not work. You got the pose spot on and it is not an easy one to do. Kudos!

It is also nice to see somebody make creative use of the Model Cellar figures. This was always my intention with these figures. Your conversion looks like something I might have done in earlier days. Not sure about the Blue Max though....

Excellent work! :wideyed::woot:(y)

Cheers!!

Mike

Even if you did put it in the Dio class I reckon you would have done well. This is an absolutely first class effort mate dont let some jobsworth tell you otherwise!!!! Good luck at the show hope you get well rewarded for your work. Keep us posted.

Hi Ray,

WOW! That is amazing! I love what you have done with our figures. And, the aircraft build is Fantastic. ...top notch work all the way around!

Paul

I expect in the dio class all of your hard work on that figure would have been overlooked by a non figure literate judge. Nice SBS.....very inspiring. Thank you

Colin
