What a great job you're doing on this piece!
As said, the flesh tones are dead on, IMHO the braid and lace couldn't be better( I really like how you've shown the horizontal threads on the wide trouser lacing)... If I were to pick at one thing, the shade of blue might be a touch darker... but not enough to be a huge deal.

If the face looks like anyone, to me, I would say it looks like Daniel Craig.

That's a shame :(, I would really loved to have seen it.
There's nothing else for it then, you'll just have to paint something else I can see.

Many thanks Colin, i think your right on the blue, having looked at the original it was almost black, so i shall try to get the darker tones in the shadows, that should darken it down a bit.

Malc sorry mate, im trying to get Boudicca finished for Euro but the way things are going it seems less likely :(

    hi all
Colin after your comment about the blue colour ive been back and had a look at various depictions of him, and you are dead right the blue was much to light. So ive darkened it down a lot, ive not gone for and exact match as its almost black, but the very deapest shadows are black

i havnt done the highlights too light but that may change, one good thing about it is it makes the gold stand out better

Much better with the darker blue. The lace looks wonderful and that technique is so much harder to do well than it looks to be.

Many thanks Brian, the braiding has been a challenge, theres so much of it

Other Colin many thanks, yes i had thought the blue wasnt quite right, then when other other Colin mentioned it, i thought Colin yer right :( I think i need more practice at this NMM lark but im pleased with the outcome so far

Heres a couple more pics, i decided to go a couple of shades lighter on the highlights for the jacket, just to make the creases pop

You've really bought this figure to life.

Still think you need to paint something else for Euro, I'll not except any excuses.

    Hi all
been plugging away at the right leg, the models not mine, and this side is just about done, the deepest shadows are straight black and then graduating to a paler blue
