I love the helmet, but the way the flesh has been highlighted looks unatural to me. It looks more like leather than skin.

Thanks for your comments friends, they encourage me to better and better.
For Tony: the leather effect you see is probably given by the lights for the photos, in fact to do a perfect photo for miniatures is always a trick...

What an awsome looking bust, great work, but l to believe as great an effect it is that the skin looks a little over done, like he,s been standing in the Simpson desert for a month. Dont take that the wrong way, its just how it appears in the pics.
    Great work over all.
    Cheers Andrew

I actually like the skin effect quite a bit. Remember that this is a kit based on a movie character, not a historical character and the movie was very stylized. The skin effect fits perfectly. The helmet is also fantastic, can you tell us how you did it? Thanks!

I'm very happy that you all appreciate my work, dear friends.
As David has noticed, my greatest attempt was rendering as well as possible the movie character and not an historical one, for example I have underlined the eyelash with an almost pure black to enance the fierce glance, in a historical one it could be too much, but not in this subject.
The elmet effect was achieved with a brush tapping with various metal shades from pure gold, silver, raw and burnt umber and black.
It's only a matter of trying and trying until reaching the desired effect.
