For all the rockers and bikers on the forum a true legend has passed away it has been announced in the last hour. A true nutter has left us and made the World a poorer place. RIP Lemmy

Had been hoping to see the 'Head one last time in Manchester next month. Last saw them in Leeds in 2010 (same city I saw them for the first time in 1981). Had tickets for their Nottingham gig in 2012 but that ended up cancelled due to Lemmy's health. It's been looking dodgy with him ever since but he'd completed a series of shows in Europe just this month and the band were gearing up for a UK tour in Jan/Feb. Totally gutted, but can't say I'm surprised. He did well to last this long.

This year they played a festival in Toronto... it was the first Motorhead show I missed since the Ace of Spades tour in '81. My son was there though, and was amazed that a 70 year old man could rock like that!

There will never be another character in the rock world like Lemmy Kilmister... ever.
Nor will there be a band like the ORIGINAL Motorhead... First, Philthy Animal Taylor, now Lemmy... Fast Eddie Clark, you best keep your head down :sneaky:

One thing's for certain, he won't want to rest in peace ! Give 'em the max, Lemmy, old son. The angels will be stuffing their wingtips in their ears
I went for a blat on the Lowrider today, as a sort of tribute. Being the same age, and all that.

First saw Motorhead in a local venue in 1980, one of the first gigs I ever went to. Seen them another five times since then. RIP Lemmy a true metal master.

A fitting tribute to a great man. Sadly we've fog and ice here so I couldn't do the same...

Great to see more older rock and metal fans here than I though. Sad to see him go and so soon after Philthy... Phil Campbell and I come from the same area and I bet he's gutted. I feel a sense of loss that one of the greats has gone to the festival in the sky. I last saw them in June 2014 in a gig that he been postponed from the previous November. A memorable month as I saw Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Metallica on successive Fridays... and the next weekend was the World Figure show in Stresa.

    Enough reminicsing for now.

Sad to hear. Saw him in Stockholm on the 4th. He looked very thin and was hard to hear what he said.
Im not that great Motörhead fan, I was there mainly for Saxon. Girlschool was an interesting bonus. They where better live than on record.
Heres a picture taken on the last gig in Berlin about a week later.

And he looked a shadow of his former self... Saxon and Girlschool bring back memories too.

    Thanks

And they where cancelling a lot of shows as well. I do think they made an extra effort for Stockholm, as Lemmy said when introducing the band members. -On drums, a local boy, Mickey Dee! Phils death seemed to have taken a heavy toll on him.

    Cheers
