A Fixture
Warrior of Moscow (Strelet Infantry (musketeers) 16th-17th century)
200mm resin bust
Legion Miniatures (Lost Wind) - Russia
As soon as I saw the posting back in September announcing the upcoming release of this bust, I had to have one. The piece intrigued me as up until recently, we have seen very few offerings of eastern European subject matter. This void is now being nicely filled by a number of top notch Russian companies, Legion Miniatures being one of them.
THE OPENING SENTENCE HAS NO BEARING ON THE COMPANY
I received the bust in mid October but due to some apparently heavy handling by the postal services (Russia to Canada), the package was obviously damaged before opening. The kit initially came well packed in a soft plastic container. However, the mishandling resulted in several of the more fragile pieces (bow, arrows, mace, etc) being broken. I contacted Legion letting them know of the situation for future packaging considerations. Although I told them I could repair the parts, they immediately responded with an offer of a complete replacement. This spoke volumes to me of their integrity and dedication to customer service and I would highly recommend supporting them. I received the replacement bust in perfect condition last week.
As you can see, the company has now beefed up the packaging in a sturdy and attractive wooden box. The sculpting is very fine and casting top notch with no shift nor air bubbles. Fit is excellent and on initial inspection, little more than cleaning up some fine casting seams will be required.
