Very impressive work.
Very good work. I've been threatening to buy this bust. I think you just convinced me.
Very, very nice work. Love the colors - very somber looking.
Trully a master's work!
Another exceptional piece bri
Mighty fine work on what is, for me anyway, a genuinely classic bust.
How did you do the nasal hair
Pretty awesome as usual, I like every aspect of this piece from the sculpt to the outstanding painting. For me you are defiantly among one of the top painters around
What nasal hair? I have to agree with you Derek, that it's a classic bust.
I don't see anything that needs to be done any different. Keep going, he's turning out pretty fine.
Love it. I'm working on the Frank Miniatures Landsknecht bust and coincidently, using the blue/yellow combo. Do you mind sharing your mixes for the two colours? I like the toned down look of them.
For the yellowi used Naples yellow deep, raw umber, and naples yellow for the highlights and burnt umber for the shading.
For the blue i used Humbrol 104 enamel blue and mixed titanium white oil into the enamel for the highlights and i used a dark blue oil paint for the shading.I don't really have a formula when i'm painting and tend to adjust the colours as i go.I usually add stains when it's all dry to enhance the highlights and shading.
Much appreciated, mate
Q: What can criticize this? Answer: Nothing. Fantastic paint on the fantastic bust. Congrats for great job.
