    Hello folks,
While i am finishing the mounted figure in 40mm i decided to rescue this corporal of fusiliers of 1791 i have started i believe early in the year or last year lol.
I came across this interesting uniform of the black Legion formed by the émigreé Vicomte de Mirabeau exiled in 1790.
He raised this Legion to counter the extreme revolutionaire tide.
Unlike his Brother the great orator of the Revolution, the vicomte was a very conservative Royalist.
The uniform was in the traditional french cut, black with dark sky blue vest, pants , turnbacks, collar, cuffs and lapels.
Some sources showed white traditional pants as well.
I have repainted the almost finished white coat in a base color of vallejo german grey, and the base sky blue from scale 75.

Mirabeau also tried to raise a battalion of Death Hussars during his exile in the Rhineland, which could also provide an interesting modelling project. He died in a duel with an army officer, if I remember correctly.

Yes, the original it is a durendal, very nice casting , details and it is a 60mm size.
The pose i jave now it is a labayen tipe of thing, but i was considering changing the arms holding his fusil at ready and i decided to change the head, inwas never happy with it.
I have tu build his side curls on the wig anyways, that will give him the "royal" touch and appearence .
    Lots of work ahead .
    Cheers

Bonjour Marquis. Yes, it was Gabriel Mirabeau, the revolutionary politician, who died of heart disease. His brother, the exiled royalist, died in a duel. They died within a few weeks of each other.

amazing story, i cannot begin to think how many families wore separated by political beliefs and tragedy during such turbulent times.

This is what have in mind for a pose on this chap.
I took the head off and unfortunately forgot the collar wasn't part of the coat, so i end up having to reconstruct the collar, replaced the head by an old spare head from JMD . 20160921_140409.jpg 20160921_140423.jpg
