This is the latest bust released this week from S.K.Minatures. It represents a Samurai in Court Dress.

The parts are cast in eight off white resin parts. All parts are transported protected in a foam lined box. The box has colour art work to aid as a painting guide although the bust can be painted as another Samurai in court dress – giving the individual modeller licence to paint in different colours/designs etc.

A close inspection of the casting of the parts show very good quality with no air bubbles of extreme flash lines .There are a few spur blocks to be carefully removed at the base of the main torso, this have been indicated in the pictures below.

Front and rear view of the bust torso shows the exception workmanship and quality of casting that has been worked into this piece. The Hat need to have the small blocks removed fully to allow it to fit into the recess of the head. I removed them quickly for review purposes to show the positioning.

The decretive front armour chest plate shows good detail and need a small block removed before fitting. The rear of the plate is profiled to fit over the raised detail of the chest detail which helps key it in to the correct place (not shown).

The rear and side hair pieces are a good fit once the casting blocks are removed as shown in the photos below. The Katana handle fits snugly into the waist band.

There is a rein pedestal base supplied in the kit which fits into the bottom hole of the bust once the mould block have been carefully removed from the bust torso.

    Conclusion:

Another fine release addition to the ever growing range of figures from Steve. Again another top sculpted piece and some nice clean casting with minimal clean-up of parts. The bust can be painted in many variations and there is plenty of reference on the web for this. Look forward to seeing this one painted on the competition tables and also here on Planet Figure. Highly Recommended.

    Tommi ,
Nice review , like the way it is presented , looks to be a good sculpt (as expected from Roman) and a nice piece when painted with plenty of options as well.
