    Hi all

I bought this kit at Euro Militaire as it was cheap and good quality (thanks Einion!).

however, I know little about the subject and timeframe so am appealing to anyone who may shed light on him, especially our Korean members.

I suspect he may be a mythical figure, or a character from a cartoon.

    here's hoping.

    Rob

(PS, he's primed and ready to paint!)

    Hello Rob
    The figure looks great!! :)
As for the accurary of the details,
I'm not sure if this figure was sculpted
with historical accuracy. In my humble
opinion, the figure is loosely based on
a character from a recent Korean movie.
Most of the figures that I have seen in this
subject seem to have armours/outfits that
are based on movies and TV soap operas.

Unlike Japanese samurai armours, there seem
to be lack of accurate reference materials on
    Korean armours...

    Just of two cents

    I do agree Taesung.

he has an almost Manga feel to him, certainly in his proportions.

I've trawled the internet and what comes up most are Korean movies. I'm curious about the white hair.

If he is from a movie, I'd love to know what one!

    Rob,

This figure may or may not be related directly to it, but this is the movie which started it all:

    MUSA - The Warrior

It doesn't boast to be the most historically accurate movie, but as an entertainment, it contains some very striking imagery which set the current trend to the wuxia pian (Asian chivalry/swordplay) cinema.

SOL HOBBY of Korea saw the potentiel and has released several figures in different scales/sizes from this particular movie.

You can buy the DVD HERE ;)

    Cheers,
    Q. :)

    Man jin Kim.
I thought someone may know more from Korea, but to find the painter is great!
Yes, I would be very interested in any photos you have, and am also interested in the armour in general.
It's also really nicely painted.
    Thanks so much for replying.

    Quang
I've seen the SOL models before and always liked them.
Also very tempted by the movie - I see there's a 2 movie edition on 4 disks out in February.........
thanks my friend for the links

    Taesung
It's wonderfully cast and assembles like a dream. Minor airbubbles.

    Thanks all

While you're at it, check out THE EMPEROR AND THE ASSASSIN

Same story line as the blockbuster HERO (with Jet Li) but much more adult with a Shakespearian flavour. Great costumes too. (y)

    Q. spending too much time in front of the TV.
