Hi everyone

Time for me to get back reviewing I think ...so what better company to begin with than something from Legion Miniatures from Russia

This is what we will look at KKKKKKKKKKKKK.jpg

Released a while ago , details of the release are as follows

Title: Three Graces Kitsune

Reference: LMBT 083

Scale: 1/10th

No of pieces: 12

Material: Medium Gray resin

Sculptor: R. Vorobjev

Casting: In house

Box Art: V. Glushenkov

What are kitsune....well according to a mythology site :

Kitsune (狐, キツネ, IPA: [kitsɯne]) in the literal sense is the Japanese word for fox. Foxes are a common subject of Japanese folklore; in English, kitsune refers to them in this context. Stories depict legendary foxes as intelligent beings and as possessing paranormal abilities that increase with their age and wisdom.

As usual with Legion products they are contained in a laser cut box with the contents in bags and between foam

On the box is a painted version of the piece with legion stickers and other views on the sides

Parts consist of torso with head , 2 arms , a large piece of clothing in a bow, water container , bamboo container , sword blade piece , mask and 4 pieces for the hair

General comments

  • Minimal work is needed apart from removing small casting posts , no filler is needed after I checked by dryfitting
  • Careful lining up of the small blade will be needed
  • Scale says 1/10th , looks a little smaller compared but she is female and delicate looking
  • No air holes on the resin
  • Forehead and right cheek needs a little careful sanding to remove tiny blips of resin
  • A base is sculpted in to the lower torso

Lets look at the resin

Torso

Sculpted a delicate touch , the female form shows well in her facial features , but see my general comments above

The facial features are good in the eyes and the nose and ear features also with the mouth shaping

Hair is pulled up into a bun ( once pieces are fitted ...see these later in review ) , the hair strands definition are delicate with pieces hanging nicely and feminine on each side

Nice work on the neck and the shoulder shaping

The left shoulder is exposed with the clothing falling just below her arm top

The clothing is well textured with folds and creases in a natural way

There are holes to fit items into , nice to see that the arms have 2 fitment holes that match up with the pieces to ensure accurate alignment

On the underside a base has been included ...some might wish to remove and use a brass rod to display

Arms

Both have large hanging sleeve and again well textured , the right hand grips the sword handle , the left the scabbard

The resulting pose being one of drawing the sword out

Fitting to the torso is simpl with the aid of 2 posts

The hands are well shaped around both handle and scabbard , the latter being a bamboo

Note: in the top of the scabbard there is a cut out to fit the blade piece into

Large Clothing bow

As you can see this is very large and imposing when in place on the figure , really well sculpted , the bow itself is hanging slightly downwards at the top , all areas show good folds and creases

I would recommend you paint this separately and then fit into place

Hair pieces/sword blade/Water container/bamboo item

These are very delicate and well detailed , there is a little fiddly positioning but in place all look great , these show good casting techniques as well

Legion Kitsune 027.jpg Legion Kitsune 026.jpg ( the blade is in the centre )

Legion Kitsune 025.jpg

This is the container for water or possibly something stronger.... a nice flowing shaping with a stopper in place with a cord around the centre no issues fitting again with a good post and hole to use

Legion Kitsune 023.jpgLegion Kitsune 024.jpg

This is a piece I am unsure what it is possibly a instrument as it has 3 smaller holes running up the centre ...., that aside it certainly looks like bamboo with the defined sections , again fitting is simple

Mask

This is shaped like a cats head as seen in many pictures , it is well shaped with defined features of the high cheeks and the ears , the eyes are cut out fully , at the sides there are tassels hanging naturally , fitting onto the side of the head

Final thoughts

A good 2nd piece in the three graces series , some prep needed but a nicely put together bust and with the option to really go to town on the painting , good presentation and packing , a nice addition to the legion catalogue

Good review Kev.
I'm tempted but think I would ditch the mask, I think it looks odd.
Just my opinion.
