Back to brushes with this classic from B. Leibovitz
That face is stunning, Paul!
Thanks a lot for sharing!
What do you use as an undercoat?
Hi, I used Humbrol #28 in three thin layers.
Fabulous work Paul - can't wait to see the rest
Thanks. I thought you were but undercoating in acrylics seems more popular today. I prime in the same way, then Humbrol base colours then oils.
Doesn't mean I get the same results as you though!
Good old Humbrols do the job perfectly, you don't even need to apply a colored basecoat.
greath start on face
Wonderful character to the face, keep it coming!
Way to go. Top class face on a clasicc.
I only use acrylics as a last resort, much prefer the 'hardness' of enamels when they cure.
I paint oils directly onto Humbrol 93 Desert Yellow whenever I can, always for flesh and pretty much everything else except reds and blues.
Looking forward to watching this progress.
Next step, should be ready for Montrouge show April 11th.
Great start Paul. What are using for the gold lace base?
Great start. The end must be fabelous.
Thank you all.
Have not yet started the gold laces, only applied a base coat of raw umber and mars yellow.
Looking good Paul
