Hi friends represents one of the last works. King of souvenirs 1/9
I was inspired by the famous photograph of an Australian soldier, he collection of souvenirs from German soldiers. Therefore, wears a german hat and carries German helmet full of small souvenirs and hand holding a German Iron Cross.
I hope you enjoy.
Palo

Brilliant sculpt.
I can see that some people might find it a bit tasteless ...... but scavenging has always taken place post battle.
Been back a few times to look at this and its more impressive each time .
Googled his story, sad maybe but it sure was a life lived.
Cheers
Derek......

Curious that he has a bit of a scowl on his face. With all that loot he ought to be smiling :D!

This is a really neat looking piece, well executed, and I'd like one (y)!

I agree with Joe, Excellent fig, but a smile would seem to be more appropriate to the pose. Well done!

(y) Something new on the market... Great idea, Palo! (y)
Tak ten se opravdu povedl. A opět (jako ostatně vždy ;)) má v sobě duši. Tedy já bych to tak řekl, nevím, jak lépe to vyjádřit.

Now that is strange I was just looking at a book with the very picture in ...apparently nothing was safe from this man .....the spoils of war eh!

A fine looking sculpt indeed with the various additions ...surely it must be heading commercial ...hope so

Definitely agree about it making a good full figure ...maybe My mate Jimbo will add his famous legs?

Thanks for sharing

Thank you for your opinions. Yes, this particular figure of WWI was contradictory. Illiterate guy, a lot of tattooed and one could call him a hyena, who picked the dead.
But even this figure has his list on Wikipedia.
And it's also a picture of the war.
Its probably the only known photo of the famous, and I do not think that is the best smiles.

And yet it was not released and already plus the legs? :(
This is not too good for me(n)

Wow many thanks for the great replies...it really is a great piece of sculpture by pavol.

I just loved the picture and the fact the guy was a scouser ...near to where i live and the fact he was an aussie too was perfect.

He looked a right miserable get tooo...a real person a real character and a real story from a very different war.

Read about him he certainly was a charmed character and perfect for a bust by pavol

Thank you my friend

Stuart

He was a scouser first so maybe his habits came from there...he became an aussie so i dont think thats a fair comment. A grat character yes !!!
