Hi Guys,

This is one of my latest work in progress.A little scene from my favourite campaign,Kharkov. A tankie and MG gunner of the waffen SS conversing ...

The panzer guy is a lovely Alpine figure with Hornet head, and the SS mg gunner is converted from the equally superb Alexander Miniatures Figure sculpted by Calvin Tan. I added a new arm also from Alpine, new hands from Hornet and Cuff sleeves and the woolen toque around hais face are sculpted with Greenstuff,The German helmet is a superb rendition by Roger Saunders of Hornet and has to be the best one I have seen in this scale,if only Hornet released these as seperate items... The face is also Hornet.

Still much to do before primer.

The fence is by RB Models typical of the area, the MG 42 is by K59 and has to be seen to be beleaved in this scale 1/35th,even the barrel in the hollow casing is a seperate item ?!!!

Please Critique and comments most welcome.

I am still very unsure on the placement of the mg42 and quite limited now as I have decided to show off its detail and have the mag feader cover open,so now I cannot have it leaning up the fence like it ought to be really ...

Mny thx

Hi Carl, loving it so far mate. The 42 gunner has the pouch on his right side, is that a mp40 mag pouch on his left? I’ve never seen that before it normally a pistol holster of some sort, but hay I’m sure there’s a photo somewhere that shows it.
Nice one mate

Hi Sam,

Yes buddy you normally see m/gunners with a pistol on the other side and im still in two minds to add one,but I love in combat images and how soldiers mixed it all up .... ive seen allsorts !! but Im just wondering if the holster would look better mmm...

Thanks you have got me thinking (y)

Good start! Nice layout.
This is why we need more pointing figures!!! ;)

This will be a nice vignette when it's done--looking forward to seeing it.

The MG-42 at this scale is a work of art in itself---the recoil spring inside the receiver and the feed paw underneath the top cover has even been sculpted---amazing.

Hi Taesung, many thanks for taking a look ! hope I can do yours and Calvins lovely sculpts some justice ! :)

Allright Carl thanks buddy (y) I love a good pointing,smoking figure :D

Hi Mitsutaka, thankyou for having a look, good to have you along :)

Hi Steve, thanks also ! yes that MG is stunning ! yep thats the receiver spring also eight or nine seperate parts in this scale

Carl

Looking very nice already mate, two very nice figures.
I agree the mg42 has to be on the floor, resting any weapon in the vertical is not common practice as a fall can result in discharge of the weapon.

Steve

Hi Steve ! thanks for looking in buddy (y)

Thanks for the advice on the MG ... I will lay it down as you suggest mate.

I have been working on the groundwork over the weekend. And this is where I am at now.

I have got to seal it in and then I will tone it down a bit with various oil filters etc... then dirty it up a bit from the passing armour ....
