Greetings.

I would like to share this W I P of my Kettle Drummer 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Grd. 1884 with Kettle Drums & Banners.
The Bust is a 1/9th Scale .
Sculpt By Palo Offo Ovecka
Produced by Mick's Mick's Miniatures.
I would like to make this very clear the this is not a review but a WIP of the bust, Just to say what you see is what you will get.

Next job is to tidy up the bits, wash, build as much as possible ( thinking Head, torso, arms, hands, and contraption.) and undercoat.
More to follow.
Any questions or advice please chip in.

Thank you Mick..your distinction from a review is spot on..obviously you are a proud parent so to speak, which conflicts strict review, but your photos tell as much as any review about the piece..

For what it’s worth, as an international buyer of Micks line, he stands behind his product and is dogged in seeing the customer get his or her pieces notwithstanding the best efforts of the mails to confound things

The arms are still awkward to my eyes..but it’s a real challenge to animate busts, and as you and I ave discussed off line, you gave Pavel a certain brief for the series...i guess the holy grail would be a full body, full horse version..but boy, would that be a big hunk of resin!

rather a scale model with the bits and bobs, but looks well thought thru so it builds in manageable way for painting.

Hope I am coming across as critique not criticism ...

Greetings,
Not much done today as the weather has been to nice to be at the bench.
I have primed the whole Bust and made a start on the helmet.

The Helmet Information.
Below gives information about the make up of the helmet design. Badge and Plume details.
Thanks to Bruce Bassett-Powell @ Uniformology.

I have started to block the helmet out in the base colours. All Vallejo acrylics.
As this is a Dragoon Guard The helmet would be of Brass with a Silver helmet plate, Black leather pad behind the silver figure 4.
The Plume for a kettle Drummer prior to 1885 would be Black over White. After 1885 it would be White as per the rest of the Regiment.

Happy to do some legs so that he looks in proportion standing at his drums!!

Mike
Thank you for your offer Mike. Mick's Mick's is a series of bust's and will remain so at source. As I have said before if you wish to add legs to this or any other Bust when purchased feel free.
Thanks again for your offer.
Mick

Slight up date.

First coats of blocking out carried out. Mistake to attach the hands at this stage they do tend to get in the way.
