Kaiserliche Marine - Marinekorps Flandern

    Marinekorps Flandern were sailors formed into full time shore based infantry to defend the Flanders coast 1914 to 1918. A much smaller shore based Marinekorps infantry existed prior to the Great War - see the photo dated 1906.

    Marinekorps Flandern published a mostly photographic war diary, of which I was lucky enough to obtain a copy - almost 100 years old. Unfortunately it was published on poor quality paper and had deteriorated from much handling over the years. I've put scans of some of the better pages in this thread.
