Okay, maybe NOT so old. Just consider this a teaser for an upcoming figure release by an as yet unnamed manufacturer....

Wow, I guess you were only kidding about the Jivaro headhunter, eh?
Wonderful figure Mike. Great personality and just love the "twisting the 'stache" attitude you've captured.
    Boffo on the blousing, too.
    Bravo.

    Very well done, Mike!!!

This is the regular uniform worn by the Don-Cossacks not only at the napoleonic times but from 1812 up to 1829..:

    What scale is it...?

    Thanks guys!

Martin, the figure is 120mm-1/16th scale - even if they are not the same thing!

I used several different reference sources for the uniform and details. The details differed for every single reference, no two agreeing. So I used my judgement in combining an amalgam of details from various sources into one single figure.

My primary source (and inspiration) was from a series of prints of "Cossacks in Paris" by Opitz. Here are some links to some of the Opitz prints:

Your print also has several differences from my other references. I really do not like the light blue color for a Don Cossack. Nearly all of my sources (including Opitz) show the color to be a dark "Navy Blue" as common for so many uniforms.

    Phil,

    Nope, I guess he isn't a Jivaro! ;)

Thanks to all for the nice comments! :D

    Cheers!!

    Hi Mike,

what concerns the uniform colour, you are right of course!

This results from the not especially good print of my presentation from a Russian book.

The bright blue was in reality more darkly...:
