I am nearing completion of a Janissary to complement the Knight Hospitaller from the Great Siege of Malta 54mm

any critics welcome I'm here to improve so it will be a better one next time.

Hello David! As far I can see looks very good! Pics are little bit dark. Detail seems to be good.

    Cheers Mikko

    David,

All the details seems sculpted real good. But (i think it is the angle where you had taken to photo) the proportion of the body is not oke.
His upperbody is larger then the legs.
I think the upperarm (head of the humerus) need some correction. It seems like the shoulder is luxated, and the musculature is gone.

    Thanks Mark

I think the problem was that the posture was not planned and in fact I found some difficulty positioning the musket

I used this figure as a base

first of all;congrats for the good effort. Always nice to see Janissary sculpts. I agree on Marc and really congratulate him for his great observation on the shoulders like an orthopedist. I believe this will look better with the corrections. If you need any reference about painting Ottoman figures please contact me.
this link can give hints about Ottoman culture and maybe some about the colors of Ottoman Clothing.
    best regards
