I'm back on track with this project now. Here's some progress shots on the doc and the chair. His hand is just basecoated. I opted for a grey suit rather than black as in the original Rockwell illustration. Thanks for looking, more to follow soon.

Hi Jason, I think your pictures are a great example of two paint finishes (the chair and grey suit) seeming so simple to do before you start but in actual fact very difficult to pull off well. You have nailed both - great to see in progress.

You have made a cracking start on this lovely kit Jason. Norman Rockwell would be pleased by your effort. Looking forward to seeing more.

A beautiful start but I see once again you have opted for artistic expression in lieu of historical accuracy by changing the suit color.:wtf:

Great start! I agree about the subtlety of shading

Coincidentally I'm just starting an old 150mm metal version by Ron Hinote - wish the casting was half as good :(

    Uber Cool, Jason!!

The tone and vivid saturation of color on the chair is fantastic!!!

Looking forward to seeing the end results which are obviously going to be at your usual highest quality!

The only thing better than watching your in progress will be seeing it in the flesh (or, in browns and grays in this case).

    Superb brushwork Jason.
Subtle throughout and the move away from the black suit is a master stroke.

Shading is nothing short of superb, especially the suit. Great work
