A first time for me - painting flats! 30mm size, painted in acrylics, the photos are much bigger than the figures. 2 down, 4 to go, complete with horses!

I've said this on here before but in case you haven't heard me say it, when you've think you've finished highlighting and shading a flat go back and do it again, it makes quite a difference.

Great stuff, I love these but could never paint that small!

Roger - I shall have a look in daylight, but, like you say, I think I can afford to push the highs and lows a bit more...

Yes - cavalry primed, awaiting colour!!

Number 3 - the shading on the horse has flattened out a bit in the pic - more pics to follow, in the daylight!

Careful Steve you'll get hooked on these little gems Good advice from Roger on the contrasts. I find painting flats made me more aware on what I do with light on round figures, still can't do it....but it made me more aware....LOL

Cheers Keith - I'm enjoying the challenge although Im not sure if I would ever get any more.... It takes me back to art college days and having to think about the application of light and shade! I hope my dad likes them when theyre done and framed
