Just started this beauty of a sculpt (54mm) by the great Piersergio Allevi.

The setup will be in a cold, snowy environment, hence why I tried to use colder tones on the face which is not done yet.

Next time I will try to take pictures under better light conditions!

If you want to purchase it you can get it driectly from the sculptor Piersergio Allevi, you can find his user profile on facebook. I/we usually order from him via FB messenger.

Refined the face, applied some of the base colors and sketched some shadow, far from done of course. Embroidery will definetly be painted over in a later stage. Pictures attached with better lighting this time :)

Do you preshade before assembly? for example inside the cloak. I'm at a crossroads as to which way to go with figures (After 25 years) assemble before painting or paint the assembled figure which seems to be your approach here.

Lovely start and look forward to following-I have most of Piersergio's Allevi's figures in my ever growing stash. They are all Limited Editions (around 180 kits ) but not time limited so you may find it on his Facebook site, message him from there.

    Hi Keith,

well it depends on the figure and the general idea of the setup. This time I assembled the parts except for the part and did the zenithal priming (to be honest, it would have been wiser to keep the cloak removable in this case). I usually assemble the figure with only pins and white tack, prime it, then disassemble, this way I still get the general guideline for placing the shadows and lights.

    Regards,
    Peter

Thanks Peter, guess there is no perfect way but pre-shading seems to be the first step of choice by most painters these days and I suppose construction is dependent on the complexity of the figure.

    Thanks for responding.

Worked on the cloak and other green parts last week. There is further refinement to be done on the upper half of the cloak. W17.jpg W20.jpg W19.jpg W18.jpg

I am calling La Marmora done for now, further refinement will be done in the final setting. Now on to the horse! W21.jpg W24.jpg W23.jpg W22.jpg
