    This is my 1/18th Iguanodon.
Shane Foulkes´ very first kit release, they have been out of production for some years. I was lucky enough to get two of the last castings.

With some difficulty due to her sinking, she has slopped across a marsh to get at some tasty morsel. On her way back she will get mired down and perish. 125 million years later her fossilised bones will erode out onto a beach on the Isle of Wight.

Shane´s skin detailing has improved considerably over the years.
I decided to completely re-texture the hide on this beast.
It worked out well so I also re-sculpted the forelimbs into "mittens" to fit in with current interpretations of trackway and skeletal evidence.
I am particularily pleased with my work on the tail.

This is what the other end looks like.

And this is how she looked before basing and miring.

As this is a collectable "vintage" kit I was a little apprehensive about making alterations to it.
But it was both fun and rewarding to do.
I will use the techniques I learned on a couple of 1/10th scale ceratopians I have lying in boxes waiting until I have finished the current wip´s.

    Spike.

The mud on the feet and the vegitation in the mouth are great!

    Wow, she's a beauty!

I love Shane's sculptures. Though sadly I don't have any of his dinos.
Your scene and setting really looks perfect.
Makes me wanna reach out and pet her a little.
Too bad, we live so many ages apart.

    Great work, Gorgosaurus!

    Thanks.

I hope the "Jurassic Park" comment was meant as a compliment...

No-one noticed the little turtle making a hasty retreat?

    Spike.
