Hello friends of PF. The truth is I do not usually paint busts. This is a larger scale for me. I presented this one to the 4th international exhibition city of San Sebastian contest, in september 2011. I won the silver medal of his cathegory and the SAMARKANDA MINIATURAS special award.
I decided to paint the 8th regiment, source Bucquoy: Les Uniformes du Premier Empire, La Cavalerie légère. Pag48, plate 27. Capitaine de la Compagnie d´Elite.
    All comments wellcome.

Thank you very much Pedro, Johan and Mike, for watch and comment.

I don´t know why, but the first pic appears here blurred, but in my computer is perfect. I ´ve uploaded three times, but always it looks unfocused. This photo has the same resolution and size as others, I don´t understand.

Like everything on the bust. You have a good feeling for painting a bust.

Very nice Eduardo. The flesh and eyes look great. Did you use oils for the flesh?
Very well done on your silver award.

    My friend,

I would have personally used a darker green, but you did a great job on this piece. I love the face especially.

Thank you Roger, Rob, and Paul(y). Well, about the green, I´ve taken as reference this green tone from the plates of Richard Knötel, contained in the book of Bucquoy. I think is quite similar.
