Drum skins back then were animal hides like calf skin, goat, etc., but they scraped them so thin and stretched them until they were just a light uneven tan or grey color. You can still buy them in the US. They're used by some world percussion instruments, like tabla drums, banjira drums, etc.

    All the best,
    Dan

    More work on the musicians.

And following a conversation with Richie at the club meeting on Friday night I've darkened the shadows on the banner to make the feathers a bit more distinct, I think that's what he meant anyway. :D

    Hi Roger,
I think I was about as punchy as you on Friday mate:blackeye:, looking good though, so the incoherent babble between us must have worked:).

I was privileged to see about 10 of these on Friday gone and they are even better than the photo's show. This is going to be one truly impressive set once finished.
..............and don't worry Dennis inspected them and they are all painted on both sides.....so twice the amount of impressive work.;)
    cheers
    Richie

That was a good observation and much appreciated. I liked the way Dennis inspected them all.... just in case. :ROFLMAO:
