MassiveVoodoo is a great resource. Out of curiosity, what sort of groundwork are you thinking about? What kind of setting do you want for this figure? Something more specific could get you some more detailed advice from the forum.

I suppose it largely depends on the type of model you want to display and the effect you are after. Is it the winged model???????? Let us all know what you want, water, snow, grass, hard ground etc.
