Here he is, guys...just a few touchups left. A really nice figure to work on. The highlights on the back of the cloak are brighter than in the photo. Hope you like him and many thanks to all who help me along with all my models.

PS My next project is Pegaso's Knight of the Holy Sepulchre:confused: to see how I do with horses.

Very nice Mary. You've certainly improved quickly in the short time since you joined us on the Planet. I think the highlighting on the chain mail is a bit overdone, and could be muted a bit more, but otherwise its a very good effort.(y)

You're right Tony, I toned it down...hard for me to tell sometimes what's too much, especially on chainmaille. And I fixed the booboo on the axe:D

Nice job. The blacks turned out well and the chainmail is fine as well.
I look forward to seeing how you go at a horse... I love to paint horses but they can be a challenge. trying to make them stand out without looking like a merry go round horse...o_O:confused::mad: but in the end, they're great fun!

    Go get 'em

Wow Mary that's great. Your best yet. I'm knocked out by how you've progressed. Mounting the figure on a nice wooden plinth would really set him off nicely I think.

I still owe you a PM by the way. haven't forgotten. Just been a bit busy.

Steve, I mounted him on a dark-stained oak base, I'm really happy with hoe he turned out.

    Excellent work, Mary!!!
I like how all elements are integrated.
Question: The weathering was done with airbrush or brush?
    Thanks Mary, for sharing!

    Hey Mary

Looks really good. OK the highlighting on the chainmail might be a bit overdone but nothing that cannot be cured with a few glazes. If you allow me to give some advice: why not try a bit glazing with raw umber, the brownish tint will add to a weary look of the metal.
Also I would make the edges of the white cross on the crusader's chest a bit sharper. These sharper edges will also create more depht.

Zeno, all brushwork, I'm hopeless with airbrushing :noteworthy:

    Johan, thanks, I'll try it!

Hi Mary, definately your best yet. I am glad to see that you are improving all the time in such a short space of time. At this rate you will soon be giving Bill Horan a run for his money. Well done. (y)

Mary, you've done quite a fine job on this! I love the worn look to the cloak, as well as the highlights and shadows of the black color. The chain mail also looks amazing. I really like this one as he really looks "battle worn"!

Thank you so much, guys. I finally got it through my head to stop being intimidated by all of the fabulous work here and just do my very best on each figure. It all comes together because Planeteers are generous with their knowledge and help.

I think you have captured the moment. The dirt and grime of the campaign has taken its toll on man and equipment. Suggest using chaulks or pigments to weather the chainmail after figure is on a permanent base.
