I have assembled another Historex figure, this one is General Junot. It is just about ready for paint.

Great stuff. Well done with the twisted wire braiding and tassels. Looks like you have used a horse and head not from historex - what make are they?

Hi Mat,
The head was sculpted by a friend, and is not commercially available. It's a basic bare head with green stuff added for facial hair and collar. The horse is Historex, from several body parts and I cut the legs and re-positioned them. I also curved his neck.

Did you also add hair texture to the horse? Is that done with putty or thick paint?

Marvellous to see this wonderful medium being so skillfully used. I'm particulary interested in how you'll handle the animation of the raised arm in the sense of the join with the dolman.

Now you are going to make me over think that shoulder joint. I'm going to have to get my kid to pose so I can study the drapery. I was just going to simply stick the arm on with a smudge of green stuff, but that will never work now. LOL.

Terrific work, especially on the tassels. Don't forget the stirrups... I can't wait for you to slap paint on this piece.

Oh you are so right, I'am currently forcing myself to get three WIP completed, before starting another. One down two to go.

This is absolutely lovely and I hope Historex madness infects everyone.

I have three different versions of him and I am going to love seeing this finished too.
