Here is my latest Historex. A Dragoon General. He will ride a Chestnut horse. Too bad Historex didn't make separate spurs. I always seem to break them off when building the figure. Then they fall on the floor and I have to crawl around with a magnifier and a flashlight. Gives my wife a good laugh.

More often than not I will knock one or both spurs off while I am building a figure. I cut a notch in the spur and drill out a hole, super glue in a short piece of brass wire and give the end one or two coats of super glue. No crawling on the floor (at least for missing spurs, other bits... oh well, the joys/challenges of being a Historex modeler).

Thanks for that tip David. Here he is with the first under coat. Looks really bad.

Nice work so far. Just one thought, I always think that the Historex gauntlet cuffs look oversized and wrong in relation to the hand. I always discard them and make my own. I use the metal sheet scavenged from old tomato puree tubes, cut open and flattened out by rubbing down with the back of the handle of a pair of scissors. It's nice and thin and malleable, works a treat. Historex hands are also rather slim and feminine, so I often discard them too and either make my own or use Hornet spares.

Yes, I just went thru the spur fiasco myself. I too cut off the spur, drill hole and place a small piece of fine wire, and then cover it with melted sprue, leaving a small blob on the end. Your piece looks great. By the way my wife teases me still, over a mameluk headress that was swallowed by the 4th demension rift under my work table, which required me to order a replacement from Historex Agents UK
