Just finished this beauty by mounting the finished bust on it's display base, which I have fabricated from a drawer handle, purchased at the local DIY store, and a block of maple burl. I painted him by using the box art as a guide and the only modification was to replace the shaft of the pike with a bamboo kabob skewer. As always, comments and criticisms are welcome :)

    Hi Glenn,
Very nice work, you have brought the best out in that face, looks great. The wooden shaft is a nice replacement and works well especially the way it has been painted.
    cheers

Great job all round on this lovely sculpt Glenn. The face is particularly well done.
The only observation 'and this is a matter of personal taste' is that here and there the whites are very white.
Trust you and yours are well and getting ready for winter
    Cheers

Very nice paint job Glenn. The face is very good and your tone of red is more convincing than the boxart.Only thing I would add is to line in with a dark colour the straps on his backpack as seen on your last photograph.Other than that a cracking job!!

Excellent Glenn, well done indeed. You have made a great job of the face, really like that. Just looks great all over and his pike looks super. What red did you use for his tunic?
Are you saving up for a return to Euro?

    Excellent work so far.
Under the colar is some red missing..seems like you hit the red with the white.

Really like the cracking on the white leather effect...and the reds are really effective

Thanks very much one and all. I just logged in this morning to see so many kind compliments, so thank you all. I will take a better photo of the base, so people can see the drawer handle as a plinth. I just tried to find one that had a flat face, which would form the bottom, and that was also tall enough to look good and be functional. That will have to wait until this evening as I have started some other painting projects at my wife's "request"...starting in the bathroom:(

Glenn, don’t forget to give the bathroom painting some “depth”! But weathering probably wouldn’t be appreciated.
