I think you're good enough with you're own imagination; Once you add the dog you'll be all set. It's going to be nice.

If he's dry, you'll have to add some millions of midges...

    Thanks again guys

I purchased a pressed board craft jewellery box from my local hardware store (Bunnings for my A/NZ mates) for $12. I’ve hacked and gouged out a profile for the base and glued the box lid under the base to created a slightly elevated base.

As you can see, the base has been filled with polystyrene and will be textured and add a few rocks to create a stream bed and waterfall.

I’m making it up as I go along, so this will probably won’t end up looking like this.

Some chip wrappers, an empty bottle of Buckfast and a couple of cans of Tenants Super lager?:ROFLMAO: As a Scot I can say these things! I love the way the figure is posed sat on your plinth. Perhaps on a rocky outcrop surrounded with heather or on a bench a bothy?

Hey Steve, I think I’ll go with the rocky outcrop and heather.

Not sure if Tennants Super was around in the 1700’s ( I’m happy to be proved wrong on that).

Cheers Nap . I know it’s not a bust so I really appreciate your encouragement mate.

Another couple of days work on preparing the scenic base.

From a narrative perspective, I want to show a peaceful moment of quiet reflection between the Highlander and his faithful companion before he leaves his home for the start of the Spring fighting season.

No paint added yet, and still a lot of details to add.

Further update on the base. First pour of clear resin to simulate water in the stream bed.

Second pour of clear resin is now completed. The groundwork is almost finished now and I’ve placed the Highlander and his dog on the base to give you some idea of how they will look when it’s all done.
    What do you think?

    Hi guys

Final additions to the groundwork have made a real improvement to the realism. Still adding detail to the Highlander and the dog to add grime and dirt. Sorry about the crappy iPhone pics.

    I hope you like it.
