Simon has stated that the face is marred by snoke and power, not mud. I think he's done a fair job of that. Re. the colour of mud on the helmet - how often do we get the earth tone of paint correctly matched to the local geography? The only issue for me is will a viewer understand the difference without him explaining it to them? Looking forward to seeing more progress as this looks like it will be a very evocative figure with the home made grenade bags and tired stance.
