Hmmm. Am I the only one to see a major Latorre influence here?

No your not. What's bad is painting the figure in a gray frock and trousers and light blue piping on the front of the coat and calling it Confederate. I've yet to see a reference that shows southern musicians wearing piping configured the same as Federal musicians. The forage cap disk is way to small, although I've seen period images of kepi's with a small disk but not a cap. I'm sure such a cap from a state unit may exsist, and they would get it right by coincidence not research. I guess maybe they felt by copying the "spirit" of Latorre's figure, and making him a Confederate drummer instead of a Union fifer would net them a winner. Sorry, IMO all they have done is produce a "Lattore like" figure that is as inaccurate as Latorre's. At least it may have some conversion potential as Heroic miniatures have neat character built into them.~Gary

Depending on the price, it does have potential but I'm not gonna shell out lots of $$$ for it.
