    Good morning all,

I thought I'd post an original 54MM piece I completed a couple of years ago. The head is from Hornet (slightly modified) with the remaining, being sculpted from Aves. kneadatite and styrene plastic. All of the painting was accomplished with vallejos. The base is made up of broken pieces of balsa foam with Plastruc (which was "painted" with Rustall).

    Cheers,
    Bob Waltman

Great looking figure Bob. I remember this one well and it's good to see it again. It's a terrific tribute to our fallen heroes and to serve as a reminder of what happened that terrible day. You hit the feeling on the head with this figure. On a different note, how'd the party go? Did Rusty show up?

    Take care,
    Jim Patrick

I really like that Bob. Being from NYC it's touching to see a vignette like this one. Beautiful.

And on a technical level, that helmet looks awesome. How did you pick 274 as the company? Is there any personal reason for that? I believe they're an Engine from Queens, NY.

    Nice work, Bob...really nice.
That day is one that niether my brother Larry, or I will ever forget. We were both in the Pentagon on 9-11, and like Jim said, you have brought home the passion of the piece and the solice of his thoughts..nice tribute; thanks!

    All the best

    Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for your words. As with most of the pieces I like to do, they are my way of expressing my emotions at the time. This is the center piece of my personnal display and one of my favorites.

    Jim,
The party went great. We broke in the new "studio" (aka - hobby room  ) with quite a few Rusty's, Beck's and several more of thier friends. :) Hopefully we'll meet back up with them in Atlanta ;)

    Francesca,
As for 274, I picked that particular company because of a photo I saw of a sitting fireman, the day after, completely wore out, with that distant look on his face. It just sort of stuck with me so I decided to use it.

    Thanks again,

    Take care,
    Bob Waltman
