Help with a Russian translation

    Hi,

I would like to have made a name plate for a Russian Siberian Rifles figure, and I have thought it would be a good idea to put the name in Russian, using of course Cyrilic alphabet.

I know "rifles" is usually rendered as "strelzi" or "streltsi" in Latin alphabet; but this is not of much use, I need to know for sure how should I write "SIBERIAN RIFLES" in Russian. I do not trust an authomatical on-line translator for such specialized terms. In fact, I have entered "Siberian Rifles" in one, and I have got Сибирские Винтовки, which would be incorrect I think; then I have tried with "Siberian Riflemen", and I have got Сибирские Стрелки. This one looks like it would be right. Is that so? Or not?

    Could anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Dani

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your very complete and informative answer.

Just one more thing; If I have understood it correctly, Сибирские (plural) and Сибирский (singular) are both adjectives, complements for a given noun. And Сибиряк would be a noun.

BTW, it is a single figure. And, all going well, I will unveil it next week...

    Dani
