    Hi Terry, they're mixable with oils to give a darker effect, and if needed to dilute,
    I use a little bit of white spirit.

    Never tried them but I have been tempted to buy some in a quest for metallic satisfaction, do you varnish over them when dry, and do you get sparkles if dry brushing highlights.

    No, not varnished, and no sparkles, you can build the highlights up by using them pure,
    and ad some darker oilpaint for the shadows.
