I am happy to have found this superb site. I just got back into figures after a couple of years break. Searching through the attic I found this figure which was my pride and joy. It is a 120mm conversion from the Verlinden Duke of Wellington (I think). It looks a bit rough from being stored uncovered in the attic so I will probably repaint it. Are there any other members of this site who, like me, prefer to paint non-military subjects?

I look forward to many future visits to the site.

Welcome to the planet Stuart. I too prefer to paint non-military subjects and like a variety of colors for my own figures. I painted military subjects (Napoleonics ) for years and grew tired of the repitition of the same pose....same colors.

Welcome Stuart, I know you will enjoy the Planet, here we have members with various interests, enjoy your stay and have fun.

Cheers
Roc. :)

Welcome Stuart! Although my personal interest is in military subjects, you'll find a number of very good sculptors and painters that are interested in everything from hockey players to famous westerners. Look back a couple of days in the General category and you'll find Glenn Hamilton's painting of a famous Canadian hockey player. To the right in the Features column, I see a post on Wild Bill Hickock. I can also remember recent sculpts of a Homer Simpson cartoon character, figures from history like Bob Tavis's Churchill - lots!

How about an Aussie cricketer or Rugby football star? If you've done conversions the step to sculpting isn't as big as it might seem.

All the best,
Dan

Thanks to all for the welcome. How dou you post photos on this site when you don't have your own website. I thought I'd attached a photo with my original post but can't see it.
