A Fixture
Hello Planeteers,
I have finished this great figure today, it's been a challenge to laint the whites since i am used to the 40mm small figs i have been painting lately.
I want it to achieve 3 different whites on the figure, and i am pretty happy with the result.
A little brief history of the regiment:
The regiment, commanded by Baron de Cadignan, suffered heavy casualties in D'Estaing's unsuccessful assault at Savannah (1779). Two of its battalions were among forces under Saint Simon brought from the West Indies to Yorktown (1781). Under its commander, Comte d'Autichamp, it participated in capturing a British redoubt on 14 October.
The regiment was created in the earlier 1600's .
The facing for this regiment were white coats, white lapels , violet/purple cuffs and piling at the lapels and pockets.
The regiment had horizontal pockets, hence the yellow buttons.
This is a particular deceee on the 1779 regulation for the French Army.
Regiments who had silver buttons wore vertical pockets, those with gold /yellow buttons had horizontal pockets.
That changed later with the new regulaion in 1786.
Hope you folks lime it.
Ps: i have built a home made light box today and shot the pics, still room for improvement.
Cheers
