Greetings all,

Here is my latest project, Fer Miniatures, Guardians of the Faith, Acre, 1191 in 75 mm. This is an excellent resin kit that required very little cleanup. It was a joy to build up and paint. It only got a little fiddly when it came to the guy holding the banner. I replaced the lower part of the resin staff with an aluminum tube that fit his hand. A brass wire was super glued into the upper part (from the hand upwards), and that fits into the aluminum tube. This way I can remove it for transport if need be.

Now a question for the members here. What is the meaning of the two letters that dangle from the cross? I would sure like to know. I only have two books on the Crusades and they were not of any help.

Excellent vignette.
As to the letters, these are almost certainly 'alpha' and 'omega', as shown in old engravings and paintings:-

Hi, Joe,
I think you might find that the symbols dangling from the cross are Masonic in origin: square and compasses and a Tau cross. They occur frequently in various Masonic ritual. Googling them might give a clearer explanation........or not
