Hi folks

Been working on this from the now sadly ended Sarnia ( PF member PLG )

Tirpitz a very distinctive character from WW1 who fell out with the Kaiser over the use of the fledgling submarine fleet

Original

Out came the putty initially replacing the folded lapels and edging and worked on the flamboyant beard

Since then I have also reworked the medal ribbons and the stars as well as the "twist" and rosette on the headwear and added a undershirt collar around the neck

Once all dry it was all primed in black and then basecoated using various Acrylics

Cheers Pierre , it's a subject not seen too much , needed a lot of cleaning up and putty prior to basecoating

Looking forward to seeing this with the brushes

Thanks for looking in

Hi Edorta

Many thanks for the pictures of the nice figure of Tirpitz , nice to see other versions

As I said a bit of prep was needed on the bust but it's going to look good and interesting when painted

Thanks for looking in

Happy benchtime

Only with your help .....still to add the 4 diamonds on the his right epaulette

Nap, over the years you've done an outstanding job of bringing busts to life with your added detail and wonderful painting! Truly impressive work my friend. I really look forward to your threads. :)

Cheers,
Ken

Hi folks

The Grand Admiral is on the bench .......I added the 4 diamonds on the right epaulette to show the earlier version of the epaulette ( thanks to Martín for helping in confirming details )

Think I might start with the eyes/ face on him, including that rather impressive beard , then the uniform colour ,then all the bling

Stay tuned

Happy benchtime

Your right I do enjoy the medals thing ......just reworked the eyes with putty on Tirpitz ....after painting them ! ....repainted the blue/ gray eyes he had

Someone looks busy. (y)
Keep it going Nap.

Malc

Just a tad Malc .......although this isn't as good a casting as others I had ...I am warming to this subject

Talking of the man here's a version from UP Miniatures painted by Jim Johnston from USA , going back to 2013

Hi to all

Iffyvision update ,flesh all now finished , beard done , working on the hat now ......it's getting there

All thoughts and ideas are welcome

It's been suggested the headwear is too small ......it's not but sculpted as per the pic here IMG_8008.JPG

Here's the headwear as now ...it will look better !

Good progress Kev. I have always thought his hat looked really weird, especially with his forked beard. He looks quite a "character".....

Your right Nigel but the height was as sculpted and worn by the uniform look vibe Kaiser !

Half the lacework done , will do edges when I paint the underside lace

Cockade also finished

Thanks for comment , rather enjoying this ...should look good once done ....providing I don't muck the bling up !!!!
