    Hey guys,

Well, here is the first attempt at the acrylics for flesh. I was inspired to paint this figure after seeing the very nice version by Luca. I hope to have a few more pictures later but here are the first ones.

    Joe,
I'm an oils man, so I almost hate to admit it, but this acrylics work looks absolutely spot-on! Risking the loss of yet another "oily", you seem to have nailed it!

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am pretty well pleased but still see miles to go on improving.

    Hey Jason,

Thanks, I found this avatar and said to myself, Gosh! I got to have it. ;)

The mix for this flesh is the same as the other one except the base coat is beige red + English uniform. The highlights were more beige red. Then beige red + basic skintone, then the next was basic skintone + light skintone. The shadows were more English uniform and then I added some burnt umber for the deepest and some beige brown for some middle ones.

I hope this is clear if not just let me know.

Joe, He's looking good. I know the groundwork is not painted, but is he going to be placed in a bit of a snowy setting? A little snow on the ground and some on top of the pillar might contrast well with his uniform.~Gary

    Very nice Joe!!

And I think that Gary is on to something with the snow idea. :)

    Hey Gary and Francesca,

Thanks and you both are on to something  I had planned on snow or mud and last week Mike said snow and now you both have said the same so "Le t it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!" :)

Just make sure there's a bit on the top of the pillar. I think we sometimes forget it comes from up above and the ground is not the only place it falls onto.~Gary
