    Greetings, everyone!

My name is Tom Sollers. I'm a retired graphic designer and illustrator. I have been sculpting, painting and building models since I was very young. My primary area of interest is WW1 aviation. But, I am actually fascinated with all aspects of history.

Like many here I'm sure, I have been quietly observing activities on the forum for many years. Since my retirement a few years ago I have been trying to get back to sculpting and model building which I put on pause when my career and parenting demands took priority. I am now reaching out to connect with like-minded individuals in the hopes of fostering some friendships.

Currently my sculpting consists of works using ProMat, but I am becoming increasingly interested in photogrammetry and 3D printing. Perhaps combining the two mediums together in some way.

I will offer what knowledge I can to conversations — though I suspect the knowledge may be flowing in the opposite direction. And praise or gentle, constructive criticism if appropriate.

I look forward to talking with you.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I live in the United States. Currently in Maryland. But transitioning soon to Pennsylvania.

I will post some in-progress pics soon.

Yes, the Elan 13 figures have served as an inspiration for me. I think the Great War period is rich in subject matter that has yet to be explored.

Welcome to the Planet, Tom! I look forward to seeing your work. I'm trying to teach myself to sculpt, too, though just in the traditional way.

Where are you heading in PA? I'm in Bethlehem.

    Prost!

    Greetings, Malc!

Thank you! I must say I'm a little envious of you folks "across the pond" — there seems to be much greater value placed on your history.
