OK boys and girls, here's yet another piece in the JLA series I'm painting. I'm taking pictures of of each piece individually as I get them done, however, in the end, they might just team-up! More on that later..........

This is Green Lantern. It again is sculpted by Jim Maddox, and is based on Alex Ross artwork of the Hal Jordan Green Lantern. What a hoot to paint! I used greens to shade my blacks (subtle I know, but at this scale I didn't push it quite as hard as I usualy try to). I also mixed a touch of green into my shadow tones on the whites as well, this fantasy/super hero stuff is FUN! I used Future floor wax to get the shine on his mask (the ring has it as well, but you can't really tell). This effect is based on what I could find of Ross' illustrations of this character (shiny looking mask!). This piece is resin, 3 pieces (arm, torso, head). Same scale as the other heros I've posted up, about 300mm or so. Don't think that I've been some sort of painting super hero myself. I have had these pieces done for some time now (in the course of last year) and I just now got around to taking some decent pictures of them (thanks Jim!). Hope you like him, any and all comments are welcome.

The painting is your usual outstanding job but the shiney mask really sets off the face. I wish I still had all the Green Lantern comics I had as a kid.

Jay - Man, that looks great! I might have to look into getting a few of these. I like the subtle shading on it. Are you going to Atlanta? I have been thinking about going becuase Tulsa may not be an option this year. End of June was great, but beginning of June, I'm just still too busy. Anyway, great job on the bust!
