This is a piece I started more than two years ago. I won't go into why it has taken so long to be painted. My Omaha painter and friend, Charlie Duckworth, recently completed it and I'm very happy with the outcome. Hope you like it!

As a reminder, I'm including the Fortunio Matania wartime illustration to which we're paying homage. Mr. Matania did a color version of the illustration which was given to the British Blue Cross after the war.

    All the best,
    Dan

Great piece of work from both of you!
I bet your glad to see it painted at last Dan. It was worth the wait though.

One question, what are the formation signs being worn? You might've told me once..... two years ago :D

Thanks Roger! Yes, I'm happy to see it finished, of course.

If Mr. Chappell (MAA #182, British Battle Insignia, page 10) is to be believed, the bombardier is a private without brigade marking, no longevity service or wound stripes of the 7th Division, Royal Field Artillery.

    All the best,
    Dan

    Hello Dan,

Beautiful work. An excellent rendition of the Matania painting. We all seem to be using the same Osprey book for all our references....:)
