Hello all! Here are some early shots of my next project - Pegaso's classic Owen Glendower. This is a complex, challenging kit and I probably wont finish it until September or so. This is my first attempt at painting a face in acrylics. I'm considering switching to acrylics for 54mm and maybe even 75mm faces. The first pic is a bit blurry. Thanks as always for looking.

    Jason,
I cannot see any shortcomings on the face. You are doing a great job on Owen.
If i may ask, is the shield design engraved?? Because i see some relief into the design.

    Jason,
Although the pictures are a bit out of focus, the face looks wonderful.

Joe, Tony, Marc, Marcel and Hikaru - Thanks guys!

Joe - good seeing you as well! I hope to have this bad boy done by Chicago.

Marc - yes, the heraldry is already sculped on the kit. Good thing too, because painting it freehand would be a pain!

    Hello,

Beautiful work on the shield, the face appears to be very well done, but the photos don´t help.

Excellent fleshtones Jason. I still haven't worked up the courage to give it a go with acrylics.

Thanks John! I think oils are superior for flesh in larger scales, but acrylics offer so much more control that I'm beginning to think they are the better option for these smaller scale faces.
