Very nice tones. He looks younger than other versions we have seen so far.

Thanks again for all your comments guys. Base coating done on bronze breast plate armour and red leather ptergres. I'm still not sure what colour to paint the cloak.

Hi Tony. Looking real good as always. When I painted this piece I painted the cloak imperial purple rather than red.

    Cheers Peter

I've decided to go with the traditional red float after all but there will be some decoration added.

I've used AK a True Metals wax to give a buff & rub shine to the bronze metal cuirass. The ornamental relief sculpts on the armour will be silver. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

More progress on the red cloak last night. I'm gradually defining and refining the shape and position of the shadows and highlights.

I've also added silver to the relief ornamental sculptures on the breast plate armour.

The juices are flowing and the work on the cloak progresses. I still have to apply a few washes and apply the rub & buff wax to the metal work to get a high shine, but it coming along.

I've glued the head in place now.

I like your choice of red for the cloak.
The whole piece just looks right.

    Cheers,
