    DSC_1305.JPG Hi guys,

Here's a painting project I am doing together with a friend: a 1/16 American GI sculpted by John Rosengrand. The arms were left off for ease of painting the belt and webbing.

We're doing this project on the occasional 'painting day' so it's not progressing rapidly.
P, if you're watching: another session is overdue! We need to move on to arms and trousers...

    Cheers,
    Adrian

Have to ask. How do you and your friend work on this as a 'team'

    Hi Jaume,
I have a style? Cool. Thanks, It means a lot to me, especially coming from you. I learned a lot from your book on painting fallschirmjaeger. Thanks for that too by the way!

    Hi Carl,
    Thanks!

    Hi Ken,
Well, how does one paint as a team? Good question. We've been trying different styles of cooperation actually: one prepping the figure, the other painting it; one painting, the other getting coffee and so on.
No seriously, my friend's experience is more in armour and planes and we started this as kind of a mini-workshop to get acquainted with acrylics and figures. Besides it's good fun to not only paint figures, but chat figures at the same time. Something I'd rather not do when painting by myself (my wife already thinks I'm weird). Anyway, the top half is done and I think it's a good idea if my friend takes over for the pants now.
Anyway, thanks for dropping a note!

    Hi Joe,
Thanks a lot for your kind remark!

    Hi Edu,
Thanks, glad tou like the face. It was done with Andrea's flesh paint set, plus some additional color tones on the cheecks and beard.

    Hi Pedro,
Thanks. As mentioned above, Andrea flesh set. Maybe not so inspiring, but quite easy to work with!

    Hi Christos,
    Thanks for your compliment!

    Hi Alexandros,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving your nice comment. A lot of blending was done and I'm glad you like the result!

Thanks guys for commenting and liking this work. Hope to be back with updates soon.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

I like very much, jacket color is a mixture or a single color?

    best regards
    Orlando

    Hi Scott,
    Thank you!

    Hi Orlando,
Thanks! The jacket colour is a 50/50 mixture of Vallejo 988 Khaki and 986 Deck Tan. Highlights were done by adding 918 Ivory to the base, shadows by adding 822 German Camo Black to the base. Deepest shadows were done with black.
Over this shaded and highlighted base I used thin veils and touches of various colours, amongst which 874 and 887.
    Stains were done with black.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

  16. Very nice work Adrian, the face is almost photorealistic, which makes a nice change from the drag queen over the top face painting so often seen on figures these days.

Done with the pants now (sort of, will see how it holds when boots and gaiters are done).
