This is a revised version of the camel scout. I corrected several sculpting errors (actually had one leg much too short!!!) and improved on historical accuracy a bit based on some new photos acquired from two new books on Colonial German troops and equipment and a search on Pinterest. Nine reference photos first. Does anybody have a right to left posed photo of a camel scout? Can't find one anywhere!!
Next six photos of the scout in grey primer.

    Hope you like it!

Eduardo (our PF member, Edorta) has agreed to paint it, so next stop Espana!

    All the best,
    Dan

I should have mentioned earlier that the barrel end of the Mauser rifle is intentionally not attached. Neither are the reins and a rope which goes round the camel's neck. I also have a period map of German Southwest Africa which will be folded and placed in the scout's lap. All of these have been kept separate due to fragility and other reasons.

    All the best,
    Dan

Many thanks Eduardo! ;) I was able to get another Verlinden 1/16th camel in the oft chance that I might lose my mind and start another camel rider. They're a lot of fun to get finished!!

Thanks Martin!! Very pleased to get that compliment from you! Actually much of this camel and rider was completed in 2009. You can read elsewhere in my posts what happened to it between 2009 and 2015. Like I said I made some initial mistakes in equipment [Didn't know it in 2009!] and in the figure anatomy and corrected them - so this is Version 2.

    All the best,
    Dan
