WIP German student Mensur duelist

    Here is a figure I have started to make with clay and métal of a Young German student fencing in a duel called 'mensur'
    Mensur was à traditional duel Young German student had to practice in the military académies principally.It is a prussian tradition where the fighters should end the duel when they have a scar on the face.
    That is why some German officers nazis or fro the Wermacht from WWII were scarfaced
    The figure is a 12 cm one. I will paint it with acrylic or oil, I haven't decided yet.

    I use mostly oil because of the slow drying time.

    I am of the oils over humbrol generation, and learning these new tangled acrylics...to me, oils are forgiving...
