    Hi! me again!

This is a guy i am working at the moment..
I don't really remember how many years ago i bought him..
but i 've noticed that he became quite famous lately on this ....planet
so i decided to give him a try..

face is almost done .. maybe some extreme highlights and some more painting on the back of the neck

Much more work for the rest..
What i am trying to achieve here is to get the wool effect on the jacket
with..oils!! Therefore i painted the base coat and i am highliting without blending, just dipping tiny dots of highlights and shadows in order to achieve some kind of rough surface...(oils do that too!!)

I am not sure about the result but i think its worth trying....

    Regards!
    Spyros

I think he is looking good, the face is fantastic. Your wool technique sounds solid, I can't wait to see the end result. I think also if the oil is a bit on the dry side that helps too.

    thank you Mike!
    (once again!)

i haven't understand what do you mean about the oil and the dry side?
    can you explain it further?

    Thanks!

If you leave the oil out to dry (not straight from the tube) it will get stiff and is much easier to stipple (dipping tiny dots) it also adds the texture you are after. I have done this for flesh to mimic a more realistic pattern for pores and such.

I agree, your skin tones are very well done. The tunic also looks great. The worn leather straps look real, great job!

Duke my friend nice to see your works here.
Your face is really great and the helmet as well. I think the uniform will benefit from some darker shades with the stippling technique you are using.

    Thank you Tom!

Actually the tunic is not finished, and the leather straps are not painted yet!! I 've just put the basic colors in acrylics in order to paint them with oils on top...

But i very glad that you like it so far!!!
