    hello the easiest is you let the strap slip over the front brim so you do not care for buckles.and its the most propaple way an high raking general would wear it.those chaps do not stay long on frontline.if they lure to their glass and have an helmet on head they would not care for the chinstrap.because they will not run or fight with it.
    so only an simple strap made form putty and all is fine.one in some minutes

    Brilliant mate. I didn't think of just putting it over the brim. I can do that with lead tape and will bring it together nicely.
