Open Book German Fallschirmjager 1944 - Young Miniatures Review

    This month's new release features a German Fallschirmjager during the battle of Ardenne Forest, 1944. Cast in 6 yellow resin parts with the Master sculpted by Young B. Song and also painted by Young B. Song.

    Packaged in Young's traditional heavy black cardboard box with all parts sandwiched between thick layers of foam with a clear plastic slide to keep the box closed. The small parts, in this case the cigarette, is sealed inside a clear plastic zip-lok bag to ensure against loss.

    Above you see various views of the separate cast head showing the facial detail Young is famous for.

    Above you see each side of the netted helmet with a small casting block that will be carefully removed for fitment onto the head.

    Above you see various views of the chest portion of the bust with an underside casting block that needs to be removed.

    Above you see the head dry-fitted down into the neck cavity resulting in a perfect fit and positioning.

    After carefully removing the casting blocks with a dremel flex arm with a small sanding drum the head and helmet id dry-fitted into the neck cavity.

    Conclusion:
    An excellent kit depicting a German smiling with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. Some removal of casting blocks needs to be done. Highly recommended.

    Looks liek a few very small casting boogers to clean up in the helmet mesh, but a very small pick on a bust with such a great expression! Thanks again for the great review Guy!

    i see no casting flaws.maybe you misinterprete the helmets plugs which would hold the helmet linner.one should not remove those

    the net seems very fine rendered.as the rest of the chap.surely it will not take long before the chinese recasters will strike on it.nearly the whole range is on ebay offered benath the orginals from various sellers.
